MMIGP Gala Dinner 2015
MMIGP Gala Dinner – Friday 27 November 2015
The MMIGP Gala Dinner was a chance for our Aboriginal community to showcase their work as well as build relationships with new organisations and friends with all proceeds raised going to the MMIGP Building Fund.
The amazing performances provided by the Mullum Mullum community were the highlight of the evening and showcased not only their amazing talent but also some of the work the organisation does with the Aboriginal community. The dinner was MC’d by Jennifer Adams (former Channel 7 reporter) who brought some light and strength to the night and kept everything running smoothly.
The young Aboriginal girl’s cultural group provided an insight into their learnings from their hard work over the last 12 months and this was demonstrated in their dance performance supported by a local Aboriginal didj player, Mark Thomson. Young Aboriginal woman, Charlise Morgan stole the show with her solo performance which received a standing ovation.
The MMIGP Hip Hop Crew brought some energy into the room with their routine and the MMIGP Choir was a big hit – particularly singing Burra Fera in the Yorta Yorta language.
The pre-dinner entertainment was provided by Aboriginal award winning artist and songwriter, Dave Arden who shared his musical talents and this was followed by the moving performance of Archie Roach who not only provided beautiful music but took everyone on a story telling journey where he tied in the importance of supporting MMIGP.
